Biography
I’m Dr. Roelf Schoeman, a pastoral and trauma counsellor with a PhD in Practical Theology. In addition to my counselling work, I am an author, researcher, and lecturer at the University of Pretoria. My focus is on developing comprehensive support systems that promote emotional well-being and facilitate trauma recovery.
With years of experience in pastoral care and trauma counselling, I am dedicated to equipping individuals and communities with the tools they need to navigate emotional and psychological challenges. My research explores the intersection of faith, resilience, and mental health, aiming to bridge the gap between theological insights and practical therapeutic approaches.
As an author, I contribute to academic and practical literature on trauma care, emotional resilience, and pastoral counselling. My work seeks to empower both professionals and those directly affected by trauma, offering insights that foster healing and growth.
Through my writing, teaching, and counselling, I strive to create holistic support systems that nurture emotional and spiritual well-being, ensuring that those facing trauma and adversity find meaningful pathways to healing.

Why I Became a Counsellor
"I became a counsellor after realizing that my own experiences in overcoming challenges could be a source of guidance and support for others facing similar struggles."
